Founded in 1954 by Richard J. Buckwald in Daytona Beach, Florida, the business has remained under the same family management for almost half a century. Our founder’s nickname was ‘Buck’ and prior to opening the retail store, his hobby was collecting firearms. His gun rack was full of his collection and he used his personal firearms to stock the store in the beginning, thus the name, Buck’s Gun Rack.

Originally Buck’s Gun Rack was exclusively a firearms and ammunition retail store catering to the collector and hunting enthusiast but over the years additional merchandise lines have been added. Of course Buck’s sells firearms, with over 1,500 in stock at any one time including Smith & Wesson, Colt, Ruger, Glock, Sig Sauer, Browning, Benelli, H&K, Walther, Remington, Savage and Weatherby Mossberg. We also now carry the area’s largest selection of PSE and Mathews Bows and Archery Accessories and have two bowsmiths on staff.

We maintain a full time professional staff of four salesmen at any one time on the showroom floor.

As concerns about theft and firearm safety have taken to the public forefront, Buck's is the area's largest dealer for Champion Gun Safes and Security Vaults with a separate showroom located in an adjacent building at the same location. Buck's offers free delivery (within 60 mile radius) and guarantees lowest prices.

Buck’s is well known as the place with the area’s largest knife selection, with literally hundreds of models to choose from, including Buck, Gerber, Benchmade, Spyderco, and various other well known brands. From tiny pocket knives to awesome survival and hunting knives, there is no better selection. 

And speaking of collections, Buck’s Gun Rack has its walls covered with foreign money and police patches from all over the world that represent the home countries of our many customers and visitors.

We have been exporting firearms, police equipment, and accessories all over the world and we maintain a separate office for quantity exports to most countries. We regret that we are unable to export firearms and ammo to individuals but corporate accounts are welcomed. Firearm accessories and police equipment may be exported to private individuals.

During the past 45 years the store has remained in the same location while more than quadrupling its square footage. The name of the street has been changed from its original name of Volusia Avenue to its new name of West International Speedway Boulevard with the State of Florida designation as US Hwy 92. The store is located just 3 miles east of the world famous Daytona International Speedway, home of NASCAR and the Daytona 500 Race.

Our home location in Daytona Beach, Florida is famous for its beaches on which you can actually drive your car, not to mention the many internationally recognized festivals held in our city every year, such as Race Weeks in February, Bike Week in March, Spring Break for collegians in April, the FireCracker 400 Race in July and Biketoberfest in October, every year. The city is located just 45 minutes north of Cape Canaveral where the Space Shuttle is launched and the rockets are visible on launch dates from our store! We are just an hour away from Walt Disney World and Universal Studios.
